What you're hiring

An engineer. Not a contract, not a pod.

Staff augmentation is the simplest model we run. You describe the skill gap, we send a short list of senior engineers who fit, you interview, they join your team on Monday. They work your hours, attend your ceremonies, ship into your backlog.

No delivery lead, no project structure from our side. Just a vetted engineer billed by the hour or the day — and a standing commitment that if the fit is wrong, we'll swap them at no cost.

When it's the right fit

Four reasons to add an engineer, not a project.

Staff augmentation is the right call in specific, bounded situations. If one of these sounds like your week, the model earns its keep.

/01

One missing skill on an in-house team.

Your team is complete, except for the one engineer who knows Rust — or Snowflake, or iOS, or SRE. One targeted hire, no restructure, no politics.

/02

A short burst of capacity.

You've got a three-month sprint to hit a deadline and you're two engineers short. Open-market hiring takes nine months. Augmented staff are on keyboard in a week.

/03

A trial before permanent hire.

You want to bring someone permanent but you want to see them ship first. Augmented staff with a contract-to-hire clause is how a lot of our best clients started.

/04

Coverage during parental, sabbatical, or notice.

A key engineer is out for six months. You can't leave the work open and you can't backfill permanently. Plug-in cover keeps the sprint cadence intact.

What you get

Six outcomes, every engagement.

The staff augmentation model is narrow on purpose. These six outcomes are what it's optimised for.

/01

Engineers on keyboard within a week.

/02

Your management, your process, your tools.

/03

Flexible scale up, down, or across disciplines.

/04

No redundancy cost when the work ends.

/05

Deep bench — specialists you can't hire alone.

/06

Swap-at-no-cost if the fit is wrong.

Why Enigmatix

Six reasons to hire from us, not a staffing shop.

Plenty of firms sell staff augmentation. These six are the ones we'll put in the contract and the ones our clients renew on.

01 / 06

Boutique communication, not a ticket queue.

You get a named partner lead. If an engineer is blocked, the pager is ours. We answer within the hour and we answer in sentences, not ticket numbers.

02 / 06

Top talent, vetted twice.

Every engineer on the bench goes through technical screening, paid trial work, and reference checks. We ship the CV only if we'd hire them ourselves.

03 / 06

Clear written communication.

Our engineers write standup notes, decision docs, and pull request descriptions like seniors — because they are. No language barrier, no communication tax.

04 / 06

Cost savings that don't crater quality.

Our blended rate is structurally below local-market senior rates in London, New York, or Dubai. The work isn't cheaper because the engineers are — it's cheaper because the cost base is.

05 / 06

Flexibility in the commercial model.

Hourly, daily, monthly, or contract-to-hire. Resize up or down sprint-by-sprint. Notice periods that match the commitment, not an arbitrary minimum.

06 / 06

Diverse specialisms under one roof.

Frontend, backend, mobile, data, ML, SRE, security, product design. One partner instead of six. One contract, one invoice, one escalation path.

How it runs

Five steps, one week end-to-end.

Staff augmentation should feel boring. Here is the boring, predictable sequence we run every time.

  1. 01/ 05

    Skill brief.

A 45-minute call to pin down the role: stack, seniority, domain context, team shape, hours. You walk away with a written role brief and the rate band.

  2. 02/ 05

    Shortlist in 72 hours.

We send three to five vetted CVs with trial-task outputs. Each one is someone we'd hire ourselves. You pick who to interview.

  3. 03/ 05

    Interview and approval.

You interview, we handle logistics. You approve the hire. There is no placement fee; our margin is on the hourly rate, not the intro.

  4. 04/ 05

    Onboarding to your team.

Day one is on your stack, in your tools, shadowing your team. Week one they're shipping small PRs. Week two they're owning workstreams.

  5. 05/ 05

    Quarterly calibration.

Every quarter we review fit, scope, and rate. Extend, resize, or swap with 30 days' notice. No redundancy cost borne by you.

  • Staff augmentation is a model where we place vetted engineers directly into your team, reporting to your engineering manager and shipping into your repos. They attend your ceremonies and take tickets from your backlog. We handle employment, payroll, and HR — you manage the work.

What partners
tell us.

Most clients renew for a second engagement. The ones who don't usually hire someone from our team to run the project in-house.

We are a mental health charity and not tech minded. We needed to improve our patient registration system but wanted a company that we can relate to. Hassan took the time to meet with me and patiently went through our process to find a personalised solution for us. Hassan's team did a great job streamlining our process and connected our registration system to our patient management software. Whenever we have a glitch, they resolve this quickly. Cloudini provides a personal and efficient service and we have adopted them to be our IT provider.

I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Cloudini as a premier bespoke software development agency. Our journey with them has been nothing short of exemplary, far exceeding our initial expectations. While many agencies can develop based on strict specifications, Cloudini demonstrated an incredible commitment to our project that was truly unparalleled.

Dragonfly has been working with the team at Cloudini for several years now on building out our web-based platform and APIs. One of their strengths is quickly building out a multi-disciplinary team to work on the development and delivery of features with different technical requirements. Their support has allowed us to accelerate our development work without building an internal team. They have also worked seamlessly with other third parties both during the acquisition of Dragonfly and development of our mobile app. Cloudini has been instrumental in bringing our ideas to life and providing guidance to help us make the best technical decisions. I would recommend getting in touch with them if you're looking for support.
